These smart, contemporary room dividers are the Lightfacet dividers from Bloomming. The geometrical diamond shapes interlock, yet can rotate separately. The resulting pattern of the divider produces an intriguing effect, playing with light and shadow in the room. In today’s contemporary homes room dividers are an ideal way to break up an open space with an artistic accent. They also retain the natural light of the home, whilst offering an element of privacy. Lightfacet is simple to add to your home – it’s available in any size or shape due to the modular construction. Dutch designed, the Lightfacet room divider is available in stores.
Snappi Diaper Fasteners

We buy cloth diapers for our baby, as a greener, cheaper and healthier alternative to disposables. Several companies make cloth diapers with snaps or Velcro fasteners, but those can hit $20 apiece or more.

Flat diapers are much cheaper, and can be folded to fit any size baby, but there’s no built-in fastener. The traditional approach used to be safety pins, but it’s a daunting task to pin a diaper without stabbing the baby or yourself with the sharp point.

The Snappi diaper fastener is a rubber elongated “T” with plastic teeth at each of the three ends. The teeth hold the diaper securely, but are too short to go through the diaper and into the baby. Putting the Snappi on is about as easy as using Velcro, and taking it off is even easier. It’s simple to clean and has a lifespan of about six months.

We tried an off-brand version first, and it nearly sent us back to pins -- the teeth wouldn't hold, and the plastic bits that connect the teeth to the stretchable body of the “T” always separated from the rubber. The Snappi brand fasteners never gave us any trouble.

Revolving Armchair (with revolving chair base) from Leolux - Gisa

The quirky Gisa revolving armchair from Leolux is fascinating whichever way you look at it; standing on a revolving chair base, it can rotate 360 degrees! Designed in 2005 by Jane Worthington, the compact Gisa armchair is inspired by the soft forms of nature. Like a swan, Gisa has a neck that turns and bends into many positions. Serving as a backrest, the chair’s ‘neck’ is an unusual and eye-catching innovation. The uncanny curves of the armchair were first moulded from one piece of material into a unified, organic shape. This shape is now faithfully reproduced using the best technology into leather and upholstered Gisa chairs, in many textures and hues. Nominated for the Interior Innovation Award Cologne 2006, the Gisa revolving armchair from Leolux is an iconic, unforgettable piece of furniture with a distinctly practical application.

Nedrelow's current work
"began as a communication with a distant friend by writing notes on torn pages from popular art publications such as Art Forum. These texts, photographed and printed in large formats (some are over 144 inches long), have morphed into abstract forms that merge and depart from the appropriated source material. The resulting work creates a new narrative of contextual distortion that questions the appropriated artist’s motivations as well as the commercialization of contemporary art."
It's on view through July 18.

Modern Steam Shower Units by Artweger

Cleverly contained within smart glass steam shower units, the new Body & Soul steam shower is from Artweger. Function and form are teamed together to bring a comfortable and totally modern steam shower experience. When you want to relax and enjoy the steam, it’s important that the seat provides maximum comfort. That’s why Artweger have given special consideration to this matter, and offer a padded seat with a mechanism to ensure a ‘soft landing’. The shower unit seats are available in two variants - single seat with a backrest or a 2-person bench with continuous backrest for those who like to share the experience. The modern units are now available in three contemporary colors - sand, anthracite and Bordeaux. Contact Austrian firm Artweger to find out more about their Body & Soul steam shower units.

Another great idea from Artweger here – the Walk In Shower.

The lone installation at Gladstone Gallery's 21st St. location in New York (through July 31), the installation is made to be walked on: head deep in the snake's ribcage, visitors walk up a creaky scaffolding constructed from bamboo posts and slats. The gallery describes the work:

In transforming the rib cage of the snake into a series of arches, Huang Yong Ping echoes the architecture of a Gothic cathedral, simultaneously reworking this Western style with Eastern materials and subtly transforming the cruciform symbol of Christian salvation into the tangled figure of Edenic temptation. More importantly, this Tower of Babel-like sculpture depends upon the natural material of bamboo reaffirming its link to Eastern construction.

But if past works by Huang are any guide, he's also playing with another idea: His giant wooden snake spine in the Walker Art Center's 2006 show House of Oracles was described to me by curator Doryun Chong (now at MoMA) as the digestive tract of the museum, raising questions about the "capacity and limitations of the institution’s 'digestion' of art."
